Egg Through the Bottle
- Scientfic Experiment
For this experiment you will need one glass bottle, a hard boiled egg, some paper and matches.
The bottle should be clean and dry.
Peel the boiled egg.
Cut the paper intro small peaces or strips and put it in the bottle.
Light the strips with a match. (Kids, you may want to let your parents do this or make sure that some grown-ups are arround watching the experiment and helping you if necessary).
When the paper starts to burn, put the egg on top of the bottle, over the opening.
Wait for a while a watch the egg drop in the bottle with a loud pop.
How this works: The fire in the bottle reduces consumes the oxygen and reduces the pressure in the bottle. The pressure of air from outside of the bottle pushed the egg inside of the bottle.
